Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Nook — the app, this website, and related services.
01.Agreement
By using Nook (operated by Clemens Bretscher, operating under the brand Nook), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Version 2026-08-04. Last updated August 4, 2026.
02.The service
Nook helps you create a Bluetooth quiet zone with a paired puck. When your phone detects the puck, selected apps can be blocked (Nook mode) or unlocked only near the puck (Koon mode). The marketing site at nook-app.io provides product information and legal documents.
03.Hardware
A compatible Bluetooth puck / beacon is required for the core experience. Hardware availability, warranty, and shipping terms (when offered) are described at purchase time. We do not guarantee range or reliability in every environment — Bluetooth signals vary with walls, interference, and device radios.
04.Acceptable use
- Use Nook only for lawful personal focus purposes
- Do not reverse-engineer, abuse, or interfere with the service or other users' devices
- Grant only the system permissions you are comfortable with; blocking features require platform capabilities (e.g. Screen Time or Accessibility)
05.Disclaimers
Nook is provided "as is." We do not guarantee uninterrupted blocking, perfect proximity detection, or any particular productivity or wellness outcome. Platform OS updates may affect permissions and blocking behavior.
06.Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including mandatory German consumer protections where they apply).
07.Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. The version date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly.
